Post Still looking for pen pals for teens.
Hello everyone,

My group of teens is growing fast and there are
two groups of 6 or 7 teens now.

They are aged from 12 up to 15 and I'm
still looking for pen pals for them.
Had no luck on other sites and really
want them to write letters and not
e-mails.

If you think your teens would like to write
to my group of teens...I have girls who are
learning ballet, love horse-riding and
who have family in Greece.

I hope someone can get this
project going as my students are still
very enthusisastic but might not be
for long if there's no one to write to!!

All the best to everyone and keep up the good work, Mark.
Your cards are really getting my students speaking.

What is the nationality of your students? The reason I ask is because the level of English the students know is heavily based upon the quality of the English education system of that country.

Post re pen pals
I have small private groups so the level is
quite good...and the Swiss are now pushing
the teens at school to do more too.

So, we're here in Switzerland.

Hope that you can help me?

Thanks.
Fiona.

I'd love to say yes AND I have some 14-15 year olds I can ask (force :P ) to do it, but their level is pretty low. They can't make complex sentences, but I'm sure they could get something down on paper. I actually think they'd really be up fo it. What do you think?

This is an elective class with 6 girls and 2 boys. They meet about 2-3 times a month.

Let me know.

I'd love to help out also, but like Mark, I don't think my students are anywhere close to conversational.

BUT IT'S NOT OUR FAULT!!!

In Japan, we are dealt a crappy English textbook hand in a country that attacks the language from a formulaic versus fluid standpoint.

Post Hi guys!!
Well, I certainly don't want you to force anyone to do something they
don't want to do....but any letter for my students is better than no
letter.

My students haven't got a high level...I do have to help them quite a bit and I speak half in French and half in Engish most lessons as sometimes they don't understand what I'm saying. :D

I feel that I can't keep them motivated much longer when it comes to writing letters to other students in other countries.
They have written to some other students in Europe and no answer!!
Great....that really motivates them a lot. :(

So anything you can do your end in the way of letter-writing would
be fabulous and much appreciated. Good luck!!

All the best to you and your students.
Fiona.

Fiona - I have my group this Thurs. They can write some introductions and ask a few questions about Switzerland for your students to answer. We'll send pictures of the students as well.

I could probably get the letters in the mail, next week.

Do you want to go ahead and do it?

If yes, PM or email me your students' names and the address to send the letters to. I can do the same.

I'm looking forward to it.
