Re: would you like some - game/activity ideas needed
I have an idea for a new game, but I don't have time right now to make the game sheet.
the idea:
- a 10x10 grid. Maybe put food across the top and drinks, salads and desserts down the side.
- Students would ask, "Would you like a hamburger and iced tea?"
- each student has the same game board.
the game:
- students need to enter their mark on the board. They need to get 3, 4 or 5 marks in a row
- to start each student can enter 6 marks anywhere on the board (but they can't be adjacent to another mark)
- student then take turns entering more marks
- they enter their mark by asking the question. Student A: "Would you like a hamburger and iced tea?" for example
- if there is no mark on the student B's paper, they answer "Yes, I would." and student A can enter a mark on their grid
- if student B has a mark in that spot, they answer: "No, thank you." and student A can't enter their mark
- if they can get 3 marks in a row, they get 1 point
- if they can extend that to 4 marks in a row, they get 3 points
- if they can extend that to 5 marks in a row, they get 6 points
- I would have them check the points at the end of the game.
Entering 6 marks at the beginning should make it more fun and add some strategy to the game. The placement of those marks will be unknown to the opponent and therefore can block the opponent and increase the number of marks the students can get in a row.
Does that make sense?
If I have time, I'll try to make a game sheet tomorrow.
