 Making it real
I teact be from home so its easier sometimes to just turn my house or a particular room into a shop, doctors surgery, restaurant or train etc. than it might be in a classroom but I tend to find that my students retain the most when we make things real. For instance when we are learning about clothes, I bring examples of every item of clothing to the lesson. To start with we just label the clothes but we sometimes make a clothes shop or play a game where the students have to put on certain items of clothes and then perform fun tasks. I also take my students to a real supermarket to learn about food and shopping, which they all really enjoy.
Hope this inspires some creative role play.
