Post Clipart sources
Does anyone know of any website where can get good quality clipart? The type of clipart that when you blow up into flashcard size doesn't become blurry.

I don't know what you mean by good quality. Or what you are willing to pay. I have found a couple of handy sites. One, http://www.wpclipart.com/, has only public domain images. The author of the site only includes PD images, and has gotten a lot of them from OpenClipart.org. They are mostly small or medium-sized, though. The other site is http://tell.fll.purdue.edu/JapanProj//FLClipart/ and is free for non-profit educational use. The images are big, black and white line drawings. They are fairly simple and can be modified. Acknowledging the source is requested.

Does that help?

There's this place:

free-clipart-pictures.net

They have a large selection you can right click and save. You won't be able to make vocab sets with them but you might be able to piece together a few pictures for a worksheets or something.

They basically run a front for larger subscription sites. so any link on the page other than the menu will take you to a pay site.

Thanks very much for the suggestion guys. I ended up creating some transpotation worksheets with smaller graphics from free-clipart-pictures.net (good selection) as suggested. This website is realy useful to get good information.

Michael

i use this site quite often. the one negative is that there is no thumbs, so you have to click around but they have a lot of the things that a lot of other free clipart sites don't have.

www.clipartheaven.com

try it out.

Thanks crashed01 for the URL to an excellent clip art site . They do indeed have lots of images you don't get elsewhere and a lot of them see to retain their quality when blowing up to a flashcard size . Very useful. Thanks again.

There is a good clipart with medium sized images which would be good for worksheets.

Generally what I do for clipart is run a google image search for the image I need- i.e. "mouse clipart"- and then if I find an image I like I read through the site's TOS to see if I can legally use it. If not, I keep looking. I've found a lot of small, specialized clipart sites this way, often that have just the thing I need. The downfall is when I find what would be the perfect image, and can't use it... but I've been pretty successful so far.
