any ideas on how to teach te circulatory system for kids (9-11 years old) ?

anything will be useful!!!!!! :oops: :shock:

Maybe just try searching for science lesson plans on the circulatory system. There's so much out there:

Take the information, worksheets and lesson plans and use what you can. Just make the content/language easier to understand for the student.

What aspects of the circulatory system are you teaching? Is that up to you?

I have to explain its funntion and to help students to identify how it works.

the thing is that there are so many names (blood, heart, vessels, etc) I don't want to confuse them

If they haven't studied the circulatory system at all, then I'd stay really broad. Like you said they need to be aware of the parts: blood, the heart, arteries, capillaries, and veins. You could focus on pulse and blood pressure, cuts and healing, or maybe oxygenation.

For oxygenation for example, you can go more into oxygenation in the lungs and focus on red blood cells. Maybe have the students draw the circulatory system in on a body outline. Have them label the parts and draw red lines for oxygenated blood and blue lines for de-oxygenated. Give them a zoomed in preview and have them use red and blue markers to show where oxygen is transferred to the tissue. You can do the same in the lungs.

For a follow-up project, have them explain in pairs or groups, why when veins are cut, the blood is red and not blue.

If you are teaching the content in a CLIL method lesson, then your student focused activities should be centered around concept acquisition and not necessarily English vocabulary retention.

How long is the lesson or how many lessons will this unit cover?

I have a two-day practice. The first day I'll teach Spelling (becuase the vocabulary relates to the topic of Science) and Science.
I have 2 hours and a half to teach these subjects.

the next day I'll do Literature and Grammar
