Post KET text book
Hi - can anyone recommend a KET text book? I know that there are quite a few out there, but I'm wary of buying one 'blind'.

Thanks

megs

Hi megs,

here is a link to a book which prepares for the examination:
http://www.cornelsen.de/cgi/WebObjects/ ... .107.1.3.1

here is a link which explains the exam itself
http://www.cambridge-exams.de/exams/ket.php

here is a link of the University of Cambridge on KET
http://www.cambridgeesol.org/exams/gene ... h/ket.html

Then, as actual textbooks, all textbooks which cover the level 'A2' are suitable.
- My favourite is 'Fairway' , very interesting and lively, by Klett
- or First Choice by Cornelsen
- or the Network series by Langenscheidt
- or English Elements by Hueber

I would suggest just having a look at the publishers in Germany as Klett, Hueber, Cornelsen, Langenscheidt, they all have A2 level textbooks.
For adults who can learn quite quickly I would suggest taking 'Fairway'

I hope I could help, and sorry for having been so late.

With my students who took the KET exam last summer we used the "Pass KET: Student's Book: The Mini-course for the Cambridge ESOL Key English Test with Practice Test: The Complete Mini-course for the Cambridge Esol Key English Test with Practice Test (Paperback)" by Amanda Thomas.

There is both the students book and teacher's with audio CD for all the listening activities.

I liked it and thought it was set out well. Although it obviously needs complementary material to go with it, it covers pretty much everything that can be found in the exam.
