|Post subject:||Multiple-intelligences lesson plan|
My Educational Psychology teacher told me that my final exam this semestre will be a lesson plan that must include least 5 of the 8 multiple intelligences of Howard Gardner.
She told us that those lesson plans can be found in the internet and that they are available in almost any web page. Is that true?
Can somebody please tell me where can I get one? thank you!!!!!

Well, I don't think you'll find a website with lesson plans that specifically state which of the multiple intelligences they cover (I could be wrong) but most lesson plans available on different websites cover a good deal of these. The trick is to look at the lesson plan and think about which of the intelligences that particular activity covers.
Linguistic intelligence: sensitivity to spoken and written language, the ability to learn languages, and the capacity to use language to accomplish certain goals.
- any creative writing, reading and maybe even listening section in a lesson plan
Logical-mathematical intelligence: the ability to analyze problems logically, carry out mathematical operations, and investigate issues scientifically.
- worksheets, puzzles, games, problem solving activies possibly even including gap fills
Musical intelligence: skill in the performance, composition, and appreciation of musical patterns.
- singing English songs
Bodily-kinesthetic intelligence: using one's whole body or parts of the body to solve problems. It is the ability to use mental abilities to coordinate bodily movements.
- TPR, working with realia, any hands on activity
Spatial intelligence: recognize and use the patterns of wide space and more confined areas.
- Working with realia, hands on activities, giving directions, etc.
Interpersonal intelligence: understand the intentions, motivations and desires of other people.
- any pair work, group work or cooperation activity
Intrapersonal intelligence: understand oneself, to appreciate one's feelings, fears and motivations.
- ask the students how they felt about the activity, have them write down what they ;learned today, what they want to remember from the lesson, or any questions they might have that are still left unanswered.
Naturalist intelligence: recognize, categorize and draw upon certain features of the environment.
- asking about the present situation, pictures, past events and experiences, drawings and things like that
I have to admit that I'm not that well read in the matter, but it seems to me that the way people learn hasn't changed and many teachers all along have been addressing these points, especially in language teaching. Howard Gardner just isolated them and gave them a name.
So, just be ready to say which of the intelligences each of your activities covers and keep in mind that one activity might have aspects of two or more of the intelligences.
I hope that helps.

aureli101 - Thanks and welcome to the forums!
I had a look at just one of those links and just one lesson plan on that page, but it seems to support what I was saying. Here's an elementary Spanish lesson plan http://www.uwsp.edu/education/lwilson/l ... /7mijg.htm from the first link above.
The teacher broke it down in MI points but it is just a theme based lesson plan with several different activities around a focal topic, farm animals.
Gabby, what did you do for your final lesson plan?
