Post subject:  I have problems with my lesson planning

hey there everyone, i'm sure all of you have had these kinds of problems before. i'm a practice teacher and right now I'm having trouble with my Reading lesson plan.
I have no ideas to be sincere. i'm ra0hter new with this stuff, and any advice or suggestion is more than welcomed. thank you!!! :oops:

Yeah, coming up with good reading materials can be dfficult. What they are interested in is to difficult fore them and what they can understand is too easy.

Matt has some materials on his site: dreamenglish.com and there are some good things on starfall.com.

Hope these help.

My friend uses a lot of the Dr. Seuss stuff in his classes and his students love it.

I've read Dr. Seuss a friend of mine has done a book report on some of his books and it's really funny.

the only trouble is that my lesson plann is for 12 year-old children which I don't think would be very interested into Dr. Seuss work.

anyway, thank you for your piece of advice!!!

You'd be surpised some of them might get into it.

I would tech them the reading first and then do it as a chant. Maybe assign different students/groups different lines, etc. My kids enjoy that, but they are a little younger and I use other sourcces because i don't have any of the Dr. Seuss books.

You could also do it as a speed read. If a student makes a mistake or pauses to ,the next student gets a chance.

it's my idea...reading is often being a boring part for students..that's what i find in my classes.....what i do is using my technique such as game....you can try this

choose the simple reading
cut them sentence to sentence
read all teks completely, ss listen...
do the reading twice
then spread the cut reading
ask ss to arrange it in an accounting time
then foollow up
feed back...
then start the reading in SGW

it will be a kind of proud thing when they arranged it well n they read what they have arranged by themself after being checked...

second way

put ss in 2 group ( 1 group 4ss)
stick the reading teks on the wall for each group
ask 1st st to come to teks while the rest take the question from teacher and read it aloud
the 2 ss at the teks try to find the answer and write on another paper placed next to the reading teks
check them all after you do it in turn and finish it
ask ss to read for checking
do the feed back

well the group which able to complete the answer get 1 point
