Well, I toyed with a newletter and the program broke on me. So, we'll keep it here for now and if I can get a better newsletter program together, I'll let you know.
First things first, it's October and what's new for fall and Halloween should be first on the list.
New! --> Fall bookmarks, Halloween bookmarks, and Halloween calendars
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
For the full list of fall and Halloween printables see the Halloween page - there are coloring sheets, worksheets, flashcards, printable games, activities ideas and more
123 Print Calendars.com
The whole site for printable calendars www.123printcalendars.com is new. You can make custom calendars entering a calendar title and short text for any date. You can choose from many themes and there are 15 styles for each theme. These are great for posting students' birthdays, school events, sports team schedules or just leave them blank and print blank calendars!
MES-English.com - I've added just a few things.
There are new tenses worksheets I added over the summer
http://www.mes-english.com/worksheets/introduction.php
I added a couple more videos to the new vocabulary videos section
Halloween - http://tv.mes-english.com/halloween1.php
Christmas - http://tv.mes-english.com/christmas1.php
I'll be adding 10 more sets to those videos in November as the plan goes.
I was hoping to add up to unit 6 on the curriculum page, but I've only added up to unit 4 so far.
Tools for Educators.com
I've added a new board game and board game maker to Tools for Educators.com. It's excellent, if I'm allowed to say so myself. It's called the Knock Out Race. You can read more about how to play it here or just go straight to the board game maker!
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
It's a looping board game that you can use to practice a lesser amount of items ( 18 ) for a longer period of time (increase the number of laps.) There is a twist to the game that sends players back to start and creates a lot of fun and a great dynamic that you don't get with regular board games. There is a text only version, all images version or a mixed text and images version.
123 Listening.com
123 Listening.com - offers free listening test audio and downloadable worksheets. There are also worksheet makers to make your own listening tests with several formats to choose from.
There are three new listening sets that have been added:
adjectives, prepositions, and countries
That's about all the big news for now. I hope everyone is settling in nicely to the new school year (for those that started back this fall.) I have plenty planned for this year all across the MES network. Hopefully I'll be able to bring you all some useful stuff.
If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. If you have any suggestions, I'm always all ears. If I can help, I will.
Happy teaching,
Mark

If you haven't been to the site in a while or you haven't noticed the updates (I think the last newletter went out in Sept. 2008), here are a couple more posts on what has been added to the sites this year.
