I live in a small fishing village and including the kindergarten there's maybe a hundred students all together at my school.
My largest is 15. Some of my mates working for the same county gvpt work in the city nearby and they have over a thousand students in their schools and they have 35 to 40 students. Some of them have assistants and some of them don't.
What Ihave experinced hee in Korea is that the classes uaually have 35 to 40 students in them.

In Italy, Spain and Portugal my experience is around 30 in regular state school and about half that or fewer in private language schools.
With teens and adults on study-vacation programs in the UK, it's usually about 8 to 12, although it can be a lot more in some cases.

 Class Size
In China at a public school it ranges anywheres from 40 to 60 in primary schools and 60 to 80 in middle and Sr. schools. These classes are a joy to teach as the level of the students English ranges from beginner to advanced. While at the private schools the avg size was 15 students. Although I have had classes that had 5 students and other classes that had 30 students.

Japan.
Classes last year there were approx 25 per class.
Some students left, so the number classes per grade is reduced by one, so now class size is approx 35 !

In public school here in Croatia we have classes that have 15 to 28 students, and that varies because in some small village school that number drops to just 1 student per class! But in that case we put together 2 or more classes.
In a private language school where I teach, there are groups of 6 to 14 students.
