Besides the ideas listed on the links Mark provided I play game I called "Find it" or "Flip it".

I divide the class into four groups and then place 4 complete sets of the vocabulary were studying face down on different tables.

The students then ask me a question such as "What color is the teddy bear?" or "what do you do after school?"

I then respond with "The teddy bear is blue?" or "I play basketball after school."

Then each student turns over one card and if the card they flip matches my answer they get to keep it for one point. At the end the student with the most cards win.

As an option, instead of just flipping one card you can have them keep flipping until someone finds the correct one.

Similar version is to place all the cards around the class room and after you answer the students question they run around searching for the cards.
My Kindies, 1st, and 2nd graders love this version.

It's basically the same game in a different format which keeps things fresh and exciting for the kids.

Another game I use either for pairs or teams is to give them both a set of flashcards and have each person or team select a card. They then play Rock, paper, scissors; the winner asks a question first. Noramlly I give the winner 3 chances to guess the other player/teams card.

Say we are using the feelings cards. Each player/team has their card: SA "Are you thirsty? SB "No "I'm not." or Yes, I'm thirsty.

If they guess correctly they take a card from the other player team/if after 3 questions that didn't guess correctly they give a card to the other player/team and then the 2nd player/team asks the questions.

Sometimes I do this at heir desks and sometimes I have them come to the front of the class and show the rest of the class a large flashcard and the 2 students take turns asking the class a question. TThe problem with this version (well maybe not a problem, but something that always happens) is students start to give hints. as long as the hints aren't verbal I let it go. If a student throws his.her arms to represent "I'm great." I let it go.

The younger students often have trouble recalling all the vocabulary so i often print a B/W copy of the handout to help them recall all the vocabulary.

I can't remeber if this was posted on the links or not.

If you don't want to make the bingo cards and you've made enough small flashcards, you can pass them out and have the students set them up in 3x3 or 4x4 rows and then they just flip the card over if that vocabulary is the answer. I usually have one student or the class ask me or another student a question.

Sometimes I ask one student a question and they get to decide the which is calle dfor the bingo. They love this becasue as they get close to getting 3 or 4 in a row they really want to to call on them. This often even gets the students who seldom talk involved

those are great ideas. Thank you so much..

I like the one that they take one, and the other people guess what it is.
