Post like/don't like, my favourite things
Hello! For a lesson on "like/don't like" and "my favourite....." for German 10 year olds I'm trying to think of a few games /fun activities/songs. It's an end of term thing and will probably end up with me handing out ice cream in a choice of flavours. Any bright ideas? Haven't done this for a while and am a bit rusty.
Thanks in advance.

You could play a 'what am I game?' to practice 'I like ...' and 'I don't like...'

I would give some examples first so the students understand the game.

T: I like holes. I like mice. I don't like eagles. What am I?
Ss: ???
T: I like swimming. I like water. I don't like people. I don't like zoos. What am I?
Ss: A snake?

After a few examplse you could put students into groups and they can make up their own list of hints. Then they would read them out to other groups to see who can guess what they are.

Make a list of all of the animals that appeared in the game and then at the end ask the class what those animals' favorite foods are. Then ask silly questions like:
'What's a snake's favorite flavor of ice cream?' 'Snakes like mice-cream.' (sorry! :) )
'What's a bear's favorite color?'
...

I use a set of cards like fruit and with a partner get one student to ask the other `do you like _____?`. They answer and the fruit gets placed to left or right side of the desk. Continue through the whole set. One side is liked the other not liked. In the middle we have fruits they have never tasted `I don`t know!!` or that are `It`s okay`. Then the student asking the questions says `so what is your favourite?` and the other student picks one from their liked side and holding it to their heart says `______ is my favourite.`
Lots of repition takes place and the meaning of favourite becomes clear.
After doing fruits they can choose a different set of cards like colours, sports, food, shops, etc
We have finished off with a class guessing game `Is your favourite colour ____?`
