 After a nap
I need some new activities for after the kids wake up from their nap. I have a few activities like simon says, fruit baskt and stretching but I need something new to get these kids out of their lethargic funk.

If you students are having a nap, would I be right to assume they are very young? How many students do you have? And how long is the lesson?

They are nine and ten years old. But sometimes I do teach some students that are 4 and 5 years old after their nap. On average, there are 10 to 18 students in the class.

 Waking Up
I would usually allow students a few minutes (10) to play small games or activities at the table after waking up (like using sewing cards or puzzles) to help them transition from sleep to awake mode. To get them remotivated, try using music activities (like Animal Actions) to get moving again!

 Hokey Pokey
2 songs that are great for getting your kids riled up at that age are Hokey Pokey, and head, shoulders, knees, and toes. Jumping up to touch your toes. The more wild you are, the more wild they get. Students tend to imitate their teachers mood. So be full of energy when singing those songs.
