Hi! I'm currently tutoring my son on all subjects that are taught at school. I would like to use "Say Theirs" to help him to improve his English and Malaysian languages vocabulary and sentence formation. But I have no idea on how to modify Mark's version to one-to-one teaching. Appreciate if someone could advise me on this.

p/s I thank God for people like Mark for being so passionate in teaching and generous in sharing his ideas. I had just quit my full-time job to be a home tutor for my son.

One thought is you can add extra people using cartoon character pictures, sports atheletes or anyone that's of interest to your son. This would make it more challenging and increase the number of vocab/sentences.

Place one person to both the right and left of you and your son (4 additional people/characters.) You can print out pictures and just use those, or use toys if you have them.

Use playing cards say the partner's word if the suits match (diamond-diamond)

If your card is a 1-5, you say the right side word.
If your card is 6-10, you say the left side word.
If your card is a face card, say your opponents word.

So if I have a 4 of diamonds and you draw a king of diamonds,
- You would try to say the vocabulary word in front of me. (You have a face card.)
- I would try to say the vocabulary word for the character to the right of you. (I have a card within 1-5.)

That may be a little too much for your son. I don't know how old he is. However, you could start with just one character each until he gets used to the idea.
