Simple activity idea using big town
Just thought of a simple activity for Big Town (or Little Town) flash cards (found on this site)
This idea is basically a find your partner kind of activity
1st. Laminate the set of Big Town
2nd. Whatever grammar point you are doing, on the day, just make simple tasks for the lesson
So, if you are teaching How old are you?, then write out a bunch of tasks using this grammar point. Write them on a small piece of paper and tape one task to each card. For example; "Find someone who is 20 years old"
Obviously, the task would be someone else in Big Town and they have to use the grammar point to find the 20 year old (do the task).
At the end of the lesson just rip off the bits of paper (as its just taped on) and next lesson write up another appropriate task according to the grammar point.
The good thing about this is it won't take long to write up the tasks and the Big Town cards are laminated so it can be done over and over

Re: Simple activity idea using big town
¨Find someone who...¨ Activities are wonderful.
I use it a lot with older kids and adults. The information can be from the student personally or if you give out the big/high town cards, you can play several times and they will give different answers for different cards.
Depending on if the target grammar is present, past, or future... I will put on the board:
Find someone who... -likes to play baseball -cooks everyday -doesn´t drive -can whistle -ate sushi last week -will go on vacation this summer
Then the students practice asking questions with each of their classmates.
¨Do you like baseball? If yes, they write the correct sentence. Nancy likes to play baseball. And then they can move on to the next question.
If no, they must find another student because they are looking for a positive answer. Someone who does like baseball.
This is a good warm-up activity to review from last class and get them moving around at the same time...
