Any ideas? OK. It's a conversation class but I want to at least try to "teach" them something new each class. Those Oxford Grammar books are too deep. They don't want to read some news etc. Is there a book out there with just a daily phrase with an explanation and some examples?

I used to use Azar's grammar book, but now I like to use a "Quick Fix" lesson from English-4U.com.

There are about 190 quick fix lessons now. They come with about 30 examples so students can undo their ingrained errors.

I use Face2Face with my adult groups. It's a series by CUP that incorporates grammar points into themed conversation lessons. You do have to reinforce the grammar with some written or oral exercises but I find it very easy to use.

I use Stepping Up with the adults I teach. It has lots of ideas and is easy to use.

But what I found really useful and engaging for my adult students was a listening series by BBC World Service 'Keep your English up to date. My students love it and can't wait for next parts. Each part consists of listening material of a new word, its origins and usage. Some of the words have provoked a lot of discussions. Here's a link.

Whoops! I incorrectly named the series I use as Stepping Up. It does have the word step in it but it is Step Forward from Oxford. Great book!

This is a great ready made question pack. This will be a big help for me to give speaking tests.
