Hi! I've read the Super Hero project and I think it's impressive, but it may be too complicated for 1 and 2 graders. My question is if it could be possible to make an adaptation of this project for my young pupils. Mark, or someone, could you tell me some ideas?

I think the writing part would be quite difficult even for native English speaking children at that age.

Maybe instead of a write-up, have the students discuss and introduce their superhero to the class verbally. You could even video tape the presentation and play it for other groups.

I actually like the verbal final product better than a write-up, because it's more communicative and you can get the students to do it over and over again for review. If they write out the description, they'll most likely just be reading it off to you. However, if there is no written record, they have to make the English from scratch every time.

Also, video taping things makes it seem much more formal than just having them get up in front of other students. I finf that students work much harder when they know they are going to video taped.

Thanks Mark for your ideas. Maybe in the next school year I will make something with it. For now, this is my 25th post and I also would like to make activities with the Little Town because now for now I just have the youngest pupils. Thank you again for your help!!!
