Mark's note:  I use the shapes and arrows (set one) to introduce the prepositions as single words for the first lesson.  I generally use actual objects like toys to demonstrate the movement.   I then expand to the whole clause (away from the box) in the second lesson.  Third lesson and beyond, I practice with the cartoon pictures and whole sentences, moving from set two to set three once the students have gotten the hang of it.
